Chapter 1 , Shlok 1 Bhagwat Gita

"धृतराष्ट्र उवाच

धर्मक्षेत्रे कुरुक्षेत्रे समवेता युयुत्सवः |

मामकाः पाण्डवाश्चैव किमकुर्वत सञ्जय ||"

Translation: Dhritarashtra said: O Sanjaya, what did my sons and the sons of Pandu do when they assembled on the holy plain of Kurukshetra, eager to fight? 🌟

Let's break it down 😊:

*Dhritarashtra said (धृतराष्ट्र उवाच):*

The blind king Dhritarashtra asks his charioteer Sanjaya...

*"O Sanjaya (सञ्जय):"*

Addressing Sanjaya, who's recounting the battle of Kurukshetra...

*"What did my sons (मामकाः) and the sons of Pandu (पाण्डवाश्चैव) do...*

Dhritarashtra's curious about his sons (Kauravas) and Pandu's sons (Pandavas)...

*...when they assembled on the holy plain of Kurukshetra (धर्मक्षेत्रे कुरुक्षेत्रे)...*

The sacred land of Kurukshetra, where the epic battle unfolds...

*...eager to fight (समवेता युयुत्सवः)?"*

Both sides are ready for war, but what's happening?

Essentially, Dhritarashtra's asking, "What's happening on the battlefield with my sons and the Pandavas?" 🌟
